Internet Etiquette and Writers' Cafe

Internet Etiquette:

The past few weeks during Peace Group, the E2 students have been discussing Internet safety. In addition to talks at school, we hope you have had discussions at home regarding Internet use and the safe use of cell phones. We do provide the students with email accounts so that they can do school work both at school and at home. Students are not to be checking and writing personl emails for fun during the school day. Please check your child's email account every so often and discuss proper use of this technology. If you do not know your child's login information, please contact your homeroom teacher.

Here is a link to a slideshow presentation that was used to facilitate discussion this week:

Writers' Cafe:

Please check in with your child to make sure they are staying on track. At this point, everyone’s paper should have been edited by two peers and by an adult. The final draft is due this Monday.

Your child will also need to wear a costume for the event. Students should try to dress like the person they have been researching. You do not need to purchase anything expensive. It is fun to be creative by using materials you already have at home.

Please let your homeroom teacher know if you have any questions about Writers' Cafe.

The night of the event, January 28, a potluck dinner will be held in the E2 Commons from 5:30 - 6:00, and the students presentations will begin at 6 P.M. Please bring the following:

  • 4th grade families - main dish
